IT staffing
You pay salaries on the 1st. Your client pays on day 70.
Every late invoice is payroll you've funded out of your own pocket.
Day45 follows up on your unpaid invoices on WhatsApp and email, politely and on schedule, in your company's name. For Indian staffing firms, agencies and consultancies that are tired of chasing their own money.
Dear Rohit ji,
Warm greetings from Meridian Talent Solutions. Invoice MTS-2207 for ₹3,40,000 became due on 2 October. We understand this may be a routine oversight at your accounts desk.
If it has already been processed, please ignore this message and share the UTR so we can update our records.
India's MSMED Act, 2006 says a buyer must pay a registered Micro or Small enterprise within the period agreed in writing, and that period can never go past 45 days. With no written agreement, it's 15 days. Late payment attracts compound interest at three times the bank rate notified by the RBI.
Hardly anyone uses it, because using it feels like picking a fight with a customer. Day45 brings the same discipline to your invoices without the fight: a steady, polite follow-up that starts on time and doesn't forget.
Applies to Udyam-registered Micro and Small enterprises. This is general context, not legal advice. Confirm how it applies to your business with your CA.
82.6% of invoices from Indian SMEs carry credit terms of 30 days or less. The average invoice is paid after 73 days.
49% of overdue money in India is less than 30 days late. It's the easiest money to bring in, if someone follows up while it's still recent.

The messages never get louder. They get more formal, reach more senior people and carry more paperwork. You approve every word before anything goes live.
A friendly heads-up before the due date, with an offer to resend the invoice. It removes "we didn't know it was due."
Assumes an oversight and offers an easy way out: if it's already paid, just share the UTR.
Moves from "please pay" to "when will this be released?", with the invoice attached and an offer to fix any paperwork the same day.
A formal email with the full statement of account. Your customer's purchase head is copied, so the invoice leaves the inbox where it was stuck.
Addressed to the director, with the interest the law allows set out in writing. Firm and factual, and it says plainly that the goal is not confrontation.
The system stops and tells you. A legal notice, a settlement or more patience: that call is always yours, never the system's.
Automation handles the routine. You stay in charge of every relationship.
You pay salaries on the 1st. Your client pays on day 70.
Every late invoice is payroll you've funded out of your own pocket.
The work is live. The invoice is "with accounts".
Retainers, production costs you've already paid, and a client contact with no say over payment.
Milestone signed off. Invoice raised. Then silence.
Big tickets, few invoices, and a founder who ends up chasing them personally.
Your customers hear from your company, not from us. If you ever stop, everything stays with you.
I'm speaking with founders of staffing firms, agencies and consultancies about how they follow up on unpaid invoices: who does it, when it stops, and what it costs them. If that's you, I'd value 25 minutes of your time. It's a conversation, not a sales call.
